Resolving a No Crank Condition on a 2012 Ram with TIPM

TIPM-250

Last month, in our featured article, we highlighted a piece from Underhood Service that provided a review of the Chrysler TIPM, highlighting how it was configured and why it can be difficult to diagnose the source of electrical system problems on vehicles equipped with it. This month’s technical tip brings us back to the TIPM. We are referencing a diagnostic video posted to the Trained by Techs channel by Brin Kline, a regular contributor to Diag.net. In the video, Brin identifies the source of a No Crank condition on a 2012 Ram 1500, using scan tool data, service information and wiring diagrams. It’s another great example of diagnostic sleuthing and well worth the 13 minutes it takes to watch.
