Lost Comm During Reflash, What to Do?

So, you’re cruising along with a reprogramming job and you lose communication with the vehicle. What’s worse, you haven’t completed the key relearn yet. Now what do you do? Ron from New Jersey did a bunch of research and scrambling when this happened to him while reprogramming a 2011 Ford Edge. Here summarizes the dilemma: “Here’s the problem. You need a working learned key to turn the car to on (dash lights on, engine off) to gain access to the PCM to learn the codes. Can’t do it; key codes are gone by virtue of the PCM replacement and computer reflash. Now what? No way in….or is there?” Check out his post to learn how he resolved the issue.
