Here’s a great case study, provided by Jacob in New York, where he outlines his diagnostic journey trying to resolve a check engine light on a 2015 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 LT. When a scan showed P2635, U18A2 and U0074, he knew that the focus was fuel pump performance. But, after replacing the FPDM, the vehicle was still showing excessive fuel pressure, which in his experience in salty New York, normally resolved once a new FPDM was installed.
Back to the drawing board. He did additional research, including on Diagnostic Network and found a prior post that led the way. We won’t spoil all the fun, but suffice it to say that 90% of these repairs always went one way for him, but this one went in a different direction. (Tip: the shown scope image, from that prior post, provides a clue as to what was going on.)
