More on Thermal Imaging As a Battery Diagnosis Tool

A few months ago, we spotlighted an iATN post that showed how thermal imaging could be used to pinpoint the source of a parasitic drain. In this month’s spotlight, Mark from Colorado builds on the prior post by showing how he used his thermal imaging equipment to identify the failed battery in a multi-battery pack on a 2012 Freightliner.

Mark’s post is a great example of how a problem can be approached from many different angles. It looks like thermal imaging is a great methodology to go along with voltage drop testing, battery testing and other existing approaches to diagnosing and resolving a wide variety of electrical system issues.
